NaPoWriMo 2018- Irony in Idioms

clear-clear-water-close-up-33682Haven’t posted anything for a while for NoPoWriMo (mostly been writing poems for a class project which I can’t post here). So, I decided to do a quick poetry exercise. These little shorts were made by taking common idioms and finding an inverse to them or deriving new or ironic meaning from them.

These were my three favorites:

It is true that money doesn’t

grow on trees

The tree has to die before

money can be printed on it

If you can’t teach an old dog

new tricks, then they

shouldn’t allowed to engage in

politics

A man should speak few words

In the presence of women

who have much to say
